Melbourne to become electrotechnical capital in October Electronics News

THE WORLD’s leading electrotechnical experts will be at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 24 to 28 October 2011.

On those dates, the Australian National Committee of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), in conjunction with Standards Australia, will be hosting the 75th IEC General Meeting.  

The IEC General Meeting generally attracts over 1,000 members and accompanying persons from 70 countries.

With the 2011 meeting is being held in Melbourne, large numbers of experts will descend on Australia.

Industry representatives, academics, regulators, and other major stakeholders will discuss technical and management issues and exchange ideas to help strengthen global cooperation among countries regarding electrical and electronic product Standards.

Areas of expertise include:
  • equipment for explosive atmospheres
  • AV and multi-media equipment
  • fibre optics
  • electromagnetic compatibility
