SAN FRANCISCO— Doug Neugold, chairman, president and CEO of process technology and materials developer ATMI Inc., Monday (July 11) was named chairman of the board of directors of the fab tool trade group SEMI, effective later this week.
Neugold's year-long tenure as SEMI chair begins Wednesday (July 13), according to a statement by ATMI. Neugold's chairmanship will begin at a meeting of the board of directors coinciding with the Semicon West tradeshow.
According to ATMI (Danbury, Conn.), Neugold has been an active leader of SEMI for a number of years, most recently serving on the organization's international board, executive committee, and as vice chairman of the board. Neugold takes the reins from KLA-Tencor Corp. President and CEO, Rick Wallace, who has served as chairman for the past 12 months.
"It is an honor to serve as the SEMI chairman at a time when the association and the industry are addressing significant strategic, technological, and management change," Neugold said through a statement.
SEMI's 17 voting directors, four non-voting ex-officio members, and ten emeritus directors, represent companies from Europe, China, Japan, Korea, North America, and Taiwan.
